While there might be rumors of an R-rated cut of the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s film, that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for the horror movie. Director Emma Tammi stated they’re happy with the original intent of aiming for a PG-13 rating for the project. Come from Sports betting site VPbet
Speaking with Forbes, Tammi (The Wind) explained why Five Nights at Freddy’s is rated PG-13 and a more violent version isn’t happening at this time. “On the one level, we wanted to be inclusive of the younger audiences and knew we were going to hit the PG-13 rating, but for the audience that also wanted that level of violence, if you will, or at least insinuation of violence, we really wanted to still include elements that felt dark,” she said.
Tammi discussed finding a balance in Five Nights at Freddy’s “to ensure that we were showing the right amount and doing creative things to insinuate what was happening or show what was happening without fully seeing it to still fit in that PG-13 category.” As such, the director stands by the current version. “I would say not to expect an R-rated version on this one,” she said. Previously, the filmmaker talked about how Five Nights at Freddy’s is inspired by Joker and director Steven Spielberg.
